Who

I’m a mom, wife, sister, daughter, employee, entrepreneur, and creative repurposer.
I value the earth and its natural resources. I live a low waste lifestyle, making improvements as I learn more about how that can be done. I am a recovering perfectionist, I love efficiency, and hate to see waste.
My husband and I live in a small home in a 55 and older community in south Florida. So far all of our 4 grown children live within the state, although not the same city. And yes, I am a grandma too!
Our home is full of old things. Some we have had forever and others are new to us but come with a history. We repair and wear our clothes until they cannot be repaired any further, then they get repurposed. We repair things before we replace them, and have learned how to do some of the repairing ourselves. We are thoughtful consumers, taking care in the ethical and environmental impact of our purchases. We choose close to the earth as often as we can, whether it is food or textiles. We choose to reduce, rethink, reuse, recycle, and compost before we consider trashing anything.
I have always been a problem solver, and I love the challenge of finding creative ways to live this low-waste lifestyle. I am enthusiastic to share them with anyone willing to listen or give it a try.
Now I am taking other people’s unwanted textiles and creating beautiful, one of a kind items from them. I turn other people’s throw-away items into useful products. And I hope to inspire others to do the same.
